Our strength at Mammutti lies in our history

Mammutti began operations in 1989, at a time when sustainability, craftsmanship and trust were at the heart of log construction. Finnish woodworking expertise and the concept of a timeless home, built to last from one generation to the next, laid a strong foundation for the business. From the very beginning, Mammutti has focused on high-quality timber and an uncompromising approach to craftsmanship. These are principles that have never been compromised, even amidst growth or change. Over the years, the company has evolved, but the core philosophy has remained the same: a well-built log house is a safe, healthy and long-lasting home.

In the early 2000s, the popularity and demand for log construction grew significantly in Finland. Mammut’s decision to focus on large laminated logs and detached houses proved to be the right choice. The company grew rapidly to become Finland’s largest supplier of log detached houses and the market leader. At the same time, operations were developed to meet the demands of the new era; designs were modernised, processes were streamlined and customer focus was strengthened, whilst remaining true to the company’s traditions.

Mammut’s journey, spanning almost 40 years, has seen many twists and turns: from a fire at the old factory to an unprecedented meteoric rise to become the market leader. It has also seen the current owner step down from the company in 2013 and then return to restore the brand to its position as one of the industry’s leading names.
